A Few Reunion Items

This is me, keeping a positive attitude (sometime it's hard to do....)
Okay, so I've been going over the family reunion budget and I've hit a road block. Everyone (except Mom and Dad) have been asked to pay $50, all together that is $300. The family pictures are costing us $80 and the t-shirts will be about $170 ($5 a person). That's $250 just for those two things. Melissa is also doing a family DVD and I'm thinking they will be a few dollars each, so like $15. That makes $265. That only leaves us $35 for everything else. So, this is what I am proposing: everyone can bring stuff that we will need. I can post a list of things we will need (for example, prizes for Bingo) and everyone can sign up for what they can bring. You don't need to feel obligated, but I think it would really help if we all could do something. How does that sound? Either that or we can not do prizes for games, or everyone can pay me more money. It's your choice....
Also, last night at Mom's, we (Rice's, Hill's, S. DeLong's and Padres) were talking about the t-shirts for the reunion. I need to make sure we put everyone in age order correctly (it's for the shirts, don't worry about it). So, please check this and let me know if we made any errors:

This is a really corny idea, but maybe this would be a fun way to do prizes. Have each family bring something that they can donate to the prizes - like something they have made or service they are willing to give and have those be up fro grabs in the prizes. For example maybe something I could donate is taking someone's kids overnight so the couple can go out. OR someone could bring a small kit with FHE ideas that someone can take home. Another could be all the ingredients to make cookies. Obviously the last two are more prize friendly because then they apply to everyone like Lisa and the padres (since Lisa is too far away to take advantage of babysitting and padres wouldn't need that). But if someone offered that then it could be taken and used by someone who could use it. It might be a good way to serve eachother a little and take the whole burden of you buying prizes. It is sort of cheesy, so if no one likes the idea then I really won't be offended. I am just throwing quick ideas out.

One more thing, I know my kids are in the right order. It is the older cousins and Casey and Jen I am don't know about.

How about a grab bag of prizes. Everybody bring $5-10 (you decide) worth of dollar store or other junk/candy and throw all of it in a big "winners basket" and then whoever wins a game can have their pick of the basket. And then at the end of the reunion we can go hog wild with whatever is left. That would be Zachy's dream come true...and Lulu's too. She collects all sorts of worthless trinkets. That's my vote. Sorry Em - I don't want to have to be as creative as your idea might require. We go for the quick fix in this family!

As for the order of the family - I'm pretty sure that Ryan R. is older than Davis...but I'm lost after that.

Sorry Lis - I love the idea of having each of us contribute something. If we each did a nice "gift basket" it would be so much more fun. You could still go to the dollar store and just get a bunch of bath stuff or something like that.

In my not so humble but always right (in my mind) opinion, we should each bring one nice prize (around $15), and as many small ones for the kids as we want - then do the hog wild thing.

Sorry, I'm just definitely camped out in the "simpler is better camp" right now. Have you seen my clothes, or my house for that matter - enough said. I guess I was thinking this was more for kid-type game winners and I'm pretty sure that Zachy would rather have a bag of smarties than pretty much anything else in the world.

My hands are holding up a big "W" which stands for "whatever", but you have to do it with kind of a valley girl accent! It sounds so much more sarcastic that way :)

Come to think of it - A big bag of tootsie rolls or Bit O Honey's would just about put me in seventh heaven.
